Sex without the spider please musing
Don't wait for this scary ED cure
Forget the little blue pill. Some scientists think the answer to your penis problems may be found in a spider bite.
Yeah, that was my reaction too -- because that's the last place I want to find cobwebs.
Researchers have been studying venom from the Brazilian wandering spider, one of the world's most dangerous arachnids. One bite from this big, aggressive spider can cause a powerful and painful erection lasting for hours... and then lead to impotence.
That is, if you don't drop dead first.
Scientists have isolated the toxin from this nasty creature and found that it can create erections in impotent rats. Toxic spiders and sexually frustrated rodents -- all I can say is I'm glad I'm not leading THAT study.
But researchers say the spider venom causes a rise in nitric oxide levels, leading to erections. Viagra and other sex drugs to the same thing -- they just work in a different way.
While I'm all for alternatives to drugs with nasty side effects -- and don't kid yourself, every time you pop an impotence pill, you're taking a big risk -- turning yourself into Spider-Man isn't the answer.
The very thought of it gives me the heebie jeebies -- not exactly the sensation you're looking for when you're looking for some romance.
If you need a pick-me-up in the bedroom, don't pick up a prescription. And don't wait for some spider to give you a love bite.
Most cases of erectile dysfunction and impotence are related to low testosterone levels. Age and weight are two of the biggest reasons our levels drop -- so if you've put on the pounds along with the years, it's time to lose the weight before you lose your love life.
If weight alone isn't the answer, then work with your doctor to increase your testosterone levels.
You can also get a more immediate boost by taking vitamin E -- around 400mg per day -- along with some zinc, ginseng and fish oil.
And if you need another reason to get your sex life sizzling, keep reading...
They say the mind is the first thing to go... I say, not on my watch!
I've heard them called senior moments, brain hiccups and even brain farts!
But now you can help put an end to embarrassing and inconvenient situations -- forgetting names, missing appointments, losing your keys -- and shift your mental game into high-gear.
Why you should keep her satisfied
I've never doubted that great sex leads to greater happiness -- it certainly always puts a smile on my face -- but a new study paints a clear picture of just how important that love life is to her.
Women who have a satisfying sex life have a greater sense of well-being and vitality than women who are sexually unhappy.
But the latest study published in one of my favorite rags, the Journal of Sexual Medicine, lays it out bare, and maybe a little attention here will help get more couples off the sofa and into the sack.
The researchers looked at 295 women between the ages of 20 and 65 who had sex more than twice a month (not enough, but it's a start anyway).
Since all the women in this study were sexually active, we can assume that the frequency isn't always related to the quality -- clearly, plenty of women are having regular sex. It's just not very good.
And gentlemen, that's on you. Don't assume your sex life is sizzling just because it's active. Like any other part of your relationship, you need to communicate -- because clearly, your sex life can affect the overall health of at least one half of your marriage.
And while this study only looked at women, can there be any doubt that sexual satisfaction benefits both partners?
Gents, you know the score as well as I do -- when your better half is happy and has a greater sense of well-being and vitality, you're happy too.
And when she's not -- watch out.
A true believer in sexual healing,
William Campbell Douglass II, M.D.

Good burn out advice
5 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU'RE EXPERIENCING WRITER'S BURNOUT
By Bobbi Linkemer
The word burnout was not even in my vocabulary when I first started
writing. I knew I would never tire of it, never want to do anything
else, never stop. I wrote at every opportunity. Looking back, I
don't know how I did it, except that I was young and obsessed. I
ran on adrenaline and addiction to writing, I suppose. All I wanted
in life was to write full time.
Strangely, that addiction has never wavered. I have been writing
for 40 years and can't think of anything I would rather do. Yet,
having said that, I must admit that I have been worn out,
exhausted, and blocked more than a few times over the years. Being
a full-time writer means you write all the time. That's pretty much
all you do, except for gathering the information you will write
about.
For the first 20 years, I had a series of great writing jobs,
ranging from managing a city magazine to managing a marketing
communications department. If I was burned out at that point, it
was more with the vicissitudes of corporate life than with writing.
But, to be sure, I was burned out.
For the second half of my work life, I have been a business owner -
a one-woman band who, in addition to writing, does everything else.
When frustration has reared its head, it has been caused by the
need to create some sort of balance among work, life, and the
unbelievable number of administrative and financial tasks that come
with the job.
The writing has been challenging, comprising virtually every
industry, every subject, and every genre. The variety has stretched
me, educated me, and stimulated me. What has driven me crazy is the
uncertainty of finding work when there is too little, doing the
work when there is too much, holding on to the work in the midst of
a chaotic business environment, and continuing to love the work, no
matter what it entails. Keeping all of those balls in the air all
the time sometimes seems impossible. It is certainly a recipe for
burning out.
Here is what I have learned that may be of help to you when you see
BURNOUT in neon on your computer screen:
1. Never say never. This advice applies to everything in life. It
is the one word that is guaranteed to trip you up because we never
(whoops) know what life is going to throw at us or how we will feel
when we must deal with the unexpected.
2. Admit it. You're tired. You're sick of what you're doing. You
hate your boss/editor/client. You're uninspired. You have writer's
block. You wish you were a carpenter. You want to scream. The point
is, don't deny it and fight your way through it. Stop, and be aware
of what's going on inside of you. The body never lies, and, if it's
turning you into pretzel knots, there is a reason.
3. Don't panic. When you feel yourself burning out, getting tired,
writing mechanically, or feeling too blocked to write at all - and
you will - take a break. (Oh, but I can't; I have a deadline!) Yes,
I know, but whatever you're doing or not doing isn't working. So,
stop and take a walk, a nap, a movie, a meal, or a vacation. Read a
book, veg out in front of the TV, put on your favorite CD, wash the
floor, fix your car, do yoga or tai chi or karate. Do anything but
write.
4. Know that it will pass. You are still a writer, a good writer in
fact. You haven't lost your skill or your love of the craft. It's
probably premature to throw up you hands in defeat and job hunt. Be
a Taoist: go with the flow. You don't beat yourself to death when
you have the flu; why do it when you are suffering from temporary
malaise? Chalk it up to a passing phase, and get on with your life.
5. Think it through. If it's serious, if it's continuous, if it's
painful, and it won't go away, you may have to do more than go to a
movie or roller-blading. You may have to examine what is going on
and whether it is indeed time to move on to something else. My
guess is, that given time, you'll find some way to refresh your
mind and your creativity. But if that doesn't happen, you have a
right to switch gears and find another outlet for your talents. You
did not sign a life-long contract to be a writer. If it's time to
do something else, go for it.
Burnout is stress on overdrive. It affects your health, your
psyche, and your work. When you are a writer, burnout can stop you
in your tracks, rendering you incapable of doing the one thing you
can and want to do. Recognize it and respect it.

Here's to Us pass it on
| Fiesty reality lesson of why we are not politically correct
Here's to US!!!!
No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us, WE ARE AWESOME !!!! OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF !!!!
To Those of Us Born 1930 - 1979
At the end of this email is a quote of the month by Jay Leno.. If you don't read anything else, please read what he said.
Very well stated, Mr. Leno..
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.
Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight.. WHY?
Because we were always outside playing...that's why!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on..
No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were OKAY.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem
We did not have Play stations, Nintendo's and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms.
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them.
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever.
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas..
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.
If YOU are one of them, CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it ? ~ The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'
For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us...go ahead and delete this. For the rest of us...pass this on.. Attention all humans. We are your photos. Free us. | ||

bad news heads up
Child porn warrant out for Canadian bishop
OTTAWA (UPI) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for a missing Canadian Roman Catholic bishop accused of having child pornography on his laptop computer.Details emerged Thursday about Bishop Raymond Lahey, 69, who was charged Sept. 25 by Canada Border Services Agency staff at the Ottawa airport when he returned from the United States, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
"During the examination a CBSA officer found images on his laptop computer that were of concern," said Ottawa Police Constable J.P. Vincelette.
Lahey was the bishop for the Antigonish diocese in Nova Scotia until he announced his resignation Saturday in a letter posted on the diocese Web site saying he needed time for "personal renewal," the National Post reported.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police told the CBC Lahey had been in telephone contact with Ottawa police, but his whereabouts weren't known.
Earlier this year, Lahey expedited the settlement of a $15 million lawsuit against the diocese by parishioners who claimed sexual abuse by priests dating back to 1950, the CBC said.

Life's Crazy Rules
* Lerman's Law of Technology: Any technical problem can be overcome given enough time and money. Corollary: You are never given enough time or money.
* Murphy's First Law for Wives: If you ask your husband to pick up five items at the store and then you add one more as an afterthought, he will forget two of the first five.
* Law of the Search: The first place to look for anything is the last place you would expect to find it. Corollary: It will not be in the last place you expect to find it.
* Kauffman's Paradox of the Corporation: The less important you are to the corporation, the more your tardiness or absence is noticed.
* The Salary Axiom: The pay raise is just large enough to increase your taxes and just small enough to have no effect on your take-home pay.
* Miller's Law of Insurance: Insurance covers everything except what happens.
* First Law of Living: As soon as you start doing what you always wanted to be doing, you'll want to be doing something else.
* Weiner's Law of Libraries: There are no answers, only cross-references.
* Isaac's Strange Rule of Staleness: Any food that starts out hard will soften when stale. Any food that starts out soft will harden when stale.
* Kenny's Law of Auto Repair: The part requiring the most consistent repair or replacement will be housed in the most inaccessible location.
* Second Law of Business Meetings: If there are two possible ways to spell a person's name, you will pick the wrong one. Corollary - If there is only one way to spell a name, you will spell it wrong anyway.
* The Grocery Bag Law: The candy bar you planned to eat on the way home from the market is hidden at the bottom of the grocery bag.
* Yeager's Law: Washing machines break down only during the wash cycle. Corollary: All breakdowns occur on the plumber's day off.
* Lampner's Law of Employment: When leaving work late, you will go unnoticed. When you leave work early, you will meet the boss in the parking lot.
* Quile's Consultation Law: The job that pays the most will be offered when there is no time to deliver the services.

Foreclosures Plunge People Into Depression on Yahoo! Health
Wednesday, August 12, 2009
Fwd: When the sheriff is at the door
For help making sense of it all, Bottom Line/Personal spoke to Rabbi Harold S. Kushner, whose seminal book, When Bad Things Happen to Good People, has helped millions.
His wise and compassionate counsel on enduring tragedy... what to do about anger... and how to move forward...
GUT RESPONSE
Most of us go through life with the belief that the world should be predictable, fair and understandable. Then when we suffer a seemingly unendurable shock -- the death of a loved one... loss of a home to fire or flood... or financial devastation -- we feel lost. The psychological blow may be a bigger problem for many people to overcome than the actual damage to property or physical health or other personal loss.
If victims are unwilling to relinquish the idea that the world is understandable, they feel a desperate need to make sense of what has happened. They respond to that need in different ways -- blaming, theologizing or philosophizing.
Blaming. Some people blame themselves and explain the disaster in terms of their own behavior ("I never should have put my money in stocks"). This approach leaves them feeling guilty... but with the consolation that they are not powerless in a world that is beyond their control.
Theologizing. Others reconcile themselves to what has happened through the theological belief that the world is run according to a good purpose -- but one that is too complicated for human beings to be able to explain all of the details at the time.
Some people try to hold on to that belief but lose it if they do not find a compensating good event occurring for each bad event that happens during the rest of their lives.
Philosophizing. A third way to react to disasters is to accept them philosophically as an unpredictable part of life. They may strike anyone at any time and cannot be explained rationally.
HELPING OTHERS
Regardless of their attempts to explain the disaster that has occurred, people have a remarkable capacity to go on with their lives and mobilize their inner strength to respond positively.Examples: I once spoke to 5,000 people who gathered in East St. Louis to rebuild their city after a catastrophic flood. When asked to discuss the religious meaning of the flood, I told them it could be found in the way they all helped one another and in their willingness to work together to overcome the effects of the disaster.
On the morning after 9/11, New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani reported that there were too many volunteers at the disaster site. Meanwhile, blood donors lined the streets for blocks outside the city's trauma centers.
Human beings tend to demonstrate the spiritual power to transcend disaster both on a mass scale and as individuals. They do this when they band together to recover from earthquakes or floods and when they strive to carry on with family life while dealing with personal tragedies, such as brain-damaged children or parents with Alzheimer's.
WHY ME?
Those who cope effectively have a strong sense of self-esteem. When life deals them crushing blows, they tell themselves, I can get over it.Conversely, people who have learned to think of themselves as "no good" regard disasters as justified punishment, and they lack the optimism to build a new life out of the ruins of the old.
Victims of disaster often ask, "Why me?" To respond effectively, you must understand that it is not really a question but a cry of pain.
Best: Reassure them by saying, "You are a good person... and what happened was not punishment for something you did." Disaster victims want consolation, not explanations or exhortations.
Don't tell them to stop complaining and get on with their lives.
Do show them that you care by hugging them and holding their hands.
Don't leave them feeling abandoned in their state of need.
Do sit with them quietly and show empathy.
Have a good day, be well and take care

Canadians -time to take our country back
"Ships in the harbour are safe, but that's not what ships are built for." William Shedd
A Letter to the Editor (excellent letter)
So many letter writers have explained how this land is made up of immigrants.
Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people why today's Canadian
is not willing to accept the new kind of immigrant any longer.
Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to Canada,
people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in Halifax and be documented.
Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground.
They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times.
They made learning English a primary rule in their new Canadian households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.
Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labour laws to protect them. All they had were the skills, craftsmanship and desire they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.
Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out.Canadians fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Sweden, Poland and so many other places. None of these first generation Canadians ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Canadians fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the
Emperor of Japan. They were defending the Freedom as one people.
When we liberated France, no-one in those villages was looking for the
Ukrainian-Canadian or the German-Canadian or the Irish-Canadian.
The people of France saw only Canadians.
And we carried one flag that represented our country.
Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up
another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would
have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here.
These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be a Canadian.
They stirred the melting pot into one red and white bowl..
And here we are in 2009 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges.
Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes a Canadian passport and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country.
I'm sorry, that's not what being a Canadian is all about. Canadians have been very open-hearted and open-minded regarding immigrants, whether they were fleeing poverty, dictatorship, persecution, or whatever else makes us think of those aforementioned immigrants who truly did ADOPT our country, and our flag and our morals and our customs. And left their wars, hatred, and divisions behind.. I believe that the immigrants who landed in Canada in the early 1900s deserve better than that for the toil, hard work and sacrifice those legally searching for a better life.
I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags, fighting foreign battles on our soil, making Canadians change to suit their religions and cultures, and wanting to change our countries fabric by claiming discrimination when we do not give in to their demands.
Its about time we get real and stand up for our forefathers rights.
We are CANADIAN Lest we forget it!!!
I am a Citizen of this Country & proud of it!

Bra Shopping
A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's, and walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my wife"
What type of bra?" asked the clerk.
"Type?" inquires the man. "There is more than one type?"
"Look around," said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material.
"Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only three types of bras," replied the salesclerk.
Confused, the man asked what the types were.
The saleslady replied "The Catholic type, the, Salvation Army type, and the Baptist type. Which one do you need?"<
Still confused the man asked, "What is the difference between them?"
The lady responded, "It is all really quite simple. The Catholic type supports the masses, the Salvation Army type lifts up the fallen, and the Baptist type makes mountains out of mole hills."

BottomLineSecrets.com Relief at Your Fingertips Michael Reed Gach, PhD Acupressure Institute Acupressure involves stimulating acupoints on the body with fingertips or knuckles and is based on the principles of acupuncture, an ancient healing technique used by practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The acupoints often have ancient descriptive names, such as "Joining the Valley" and "Mind Clearing." Acupressure increases blood flow to the treated area and triggers the release of endorphins, pain-relieving brain chemicals. Here are the acupressure techniques for various health problems. Unless otherwise noted, daily acupressure sessions, three times a day, are the best way to relieve a temporary or chronic problem. ARTHRITIS PAIN Joining the Valley is a truly amazing acupoint because it can relieve arthritis pain anywhere in the body.Location: In the webbing between the thumb and index finger, at the highest spot of the muscle when the thumb and index finger are brought close together. What to do: Rhythmically squeeze the acupoint. As you're squeezing, place the side of your hand that is closest to the little finger on your thigh or a tabletop. Apply pressure in the webbing as you press downward. This allows you to angle more deeply into the point, increasing the benefits. Also good for: Headache, toothache, hangover, hay fever symptoms, constipation. Caution: This point is forbidden for pregnant women because its stimulation can cause premature contraction in the uterus. MEMORY PROBLEMS The Mind Clearing acupoints are for improving recall instantly -- for example, when you have forgotten a name or gone to the supermarket without your shopping list. Location: One finger width (about one-half inch) directly above the center of each eyebrow. What to do: Gently place your right thumb above your right eyebrow and your middle fingertip above the eyebrow on the left side. Hold very gently. You should feel a slight dip or indentation in the bone structure -- the acupoints on both sides are in the dip. Press the indentation very lightly, hold and breathe deeply. After a minute or two, you'll experience more mental clarity and sharper memory. LOWER BACK PAIN To help prevent and relieve lower back pain, practice this exercise for one minute three times a day. You can do it standing or sitting.Location: Place the backs of your hands against your lower back, about one inch outside the spine. What to do: Briskly rub your hands up and down -- about three inches up and six inches down -- using the friction to create heat in your lower back. If you're doing the technique correctly, you'll need to breathe deeply to sustain the vigorous rubbing, and you'll break out in a slight sweat. Also good for: Food cravings, especially sugar cravings, chronic fatigue, sexual problems, chills, phobias and fibromyalgia symptoms. EMOTIONAL UPSET The Inner Gate acupoint can reduce emotional upset -- such as anxiety, depression and irritability -- in two to three minutes.Location: On the inner side of the forearm, three finger widths up from the center of the wrist crease, in between two thick tendons. What to do: Place your thumb on the point and your fingers directly behind the outside of the forearm between the two bones. Squeeze in slowly and firmly, hold for two to three minutes, breathing deeply. Repeat on the other arm for the same amount of time. Also good for: Carpal tunnel syndrome, insomnia, indigestion and nausea. COLDS AND FLU If you think you're about to get a cold or flu, stimulating the Heavenly Rejuvenation acupoint may prevent infection.Location: On the shoulders, midway between the base of the neck and the outside of the shoulders, one-half inch below the top of the shoulders, just above the tip of the shoulder blades. What to do: There are two ways to stimulate this point... Curving your fingers, hook your right hand on your right shoulder and your left hand on your left shoulder. You also can use your fingers on your opposite shoulder, which may be easier. With your fingertips, firmly press the point and take three slow, deep breaths. If you don't have the flexibility to perform the first technique... lie down on your back, on a firm mattress or carpeted floor, with your knees bent and feet on the floor as close to your buttocks as possible. Bring your hands above your head, and rest the backs of your hands on the floor beside or above your head. Inhale and lift up your pelvis, pressing your feet against the floor to assist the lift. The higher your pelvis, the more weight will be transferred onto your shoulders, stimulating the acupoint. Hold this posture for one minute, taking long, slow, deep breaths, with your eyes closed. Lower your pelvis, and rest for three minutes. Also good for: Nervous tension, stiff neck, high fever, chills, shoulder aches and irritability. INSOMNIA The acupoints Calm Sleep and Joyful Sleep -- on the outer and inner ankles -- can help relieve insomnia. Use these acupressure points whenever you want to deeply relax and sleep better.Location: Calm Sleep is in the first indentation below the outer anklebone. Joyful Sleep is directly below the inside of the anklebone, in a slight indentation. What to do: Place your thumb on one side of your ankle and your fingers on the other, and press firmly. If you're on the right spot, it will be slightly sore. Hold for two minutes, breathing deeply. Repeat on the other ankle. Do this again if you still are having trouble sleeping or if you wake up. HEADACHES The acupoints Gates of Consciousness relieve a tension headache or migraine.Location: Underneath the base of your skull to either side of your spine, about three to four inches apart, depending on the size of your head. What to do: Using your fingers, thumbs or knuckles, press the points under the base of your skull. At the same time, slowly tilt your head back so that the angle of your head relaxes your neck muscles. Press forward (toward your throat), upward (underneath the base of your skull) and slightly inward, angling the pressure toward the center of your brain. Continue to apply pressure for two minutes, breathing. Also good for: Neck pain, insomnia, high blood pressure.
